 Mission
Statement:
The
goal of the CoMamas Association is to teach stepwives and their
families how to develop cooperative and respectful relationships
so they can end their war and get along for the sake of the
children.
 Both
graduates of the School of Hard Knocks, we have spent the last
decade living and breathing, eating and sleeping, avoiding and
confronting the ins and outs of mothering the same child and
guess what? We made it! Not only are we still alive and kicking
(no, not each other), we are here to say that we have co-raised
one of the most incredible teenagers two mother have ever seen.
What do we say to that? We say, "The proof is in the pudding."
Lynne Oxhorn-Ringwood, the ex-wife, received a Bachelor's Degree
in Communication and went on to earn a Master's Degree in Communicative
Disorders. She has been working as a licensed Speech and Language
Pathologist for more than 25 years. Within the confines of her
private practice, she has specialized in social and interpersonal
communication.
Louise Oxhorn, the stepmother, earned a degree
in marketing/merchandising from the Fashion Institute of Technology
in New York and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communication from
the University of Buffalo, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.
She has also trained as a mediator, using her skills in this
area to successfully negotiate business, as well as relationship,
conflicts.
 Dr.
Krausz received her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy
and is a licensed M.F.T. in the state of California. She received
her Doctorate in Counseling from the University of Houston and
is a licensed psychologist in the state of Texas. Dr. Krausz
has worked with stepfamilies for over 25 years and is a strong
advocate for the health and well being of children. The CoMamas
asked Dr. Krausz to help them write and develop a program for
improving the stepwife relationship, and to join them in reaching
out to help stepwives everywhere.
